Scholarship Details
The Global Futures Scholarship offers:
1. Undergraduate Awards:
Over 100 merit-based scholarships worth £24,000 each.
Distributed as £8,000 per year for three years, conditional on achieving at least 60% average annually.
2. Master’s Awards:
Over 230 merit-based scholarships valued at £15,000 each.
Awarded based on academic excellence and responses in the scholarship application form.
Scholarships will be granted as discounts on published overseas tuition fees.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
1. Residency: Be domiciled in one of the eligible African countries and have predominantly lived there for the past three years.
2. Funding: Be self-funded (not sponsored).
3. Program Type: Apply for full-time, on-campus programs (blended or distance learning programs are not eligible).
4. Undergraduate Applicants:
Must be applying for first-year direct entry in 2025.
Must hold qualifications such as A-levels, IB Diploma, South African NSC/IEB, or NCUK International Foundation Year.
Must select the University of Manchester as their FIRM UCAS choice by May 23, 2025.
Previous study at a higher education institution in the UK disqualifies eligibility.
5. Master’s Applicants:
Must hold an unconditional offer to study a full-time master’s program starting in September 2025 by April 24, 2025.
Must complete and submit the online scholarship application form emailed after receiving an offer.
Certain programs such as MBA, MPhil, PGCE, Clinical Medicine, and Dentistry are excluded.
How to Apply
To apply for the University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarship:
1. Undergraduate Applicants:
Apply for an undergraduate program at the University of Manchester.
Scholarship application forms will be emailed to eligible applicants starting December 2024.
Submit the completed form by April 24, 2025.
2. Master’s Applicants:
Apply for a master’s program at the University of Manchester.
Once admitted, complete the scholarship application form emailed to eligible offer holders.
Submit the form by April 25, 2025.
Awards Notification:
Successful applicants will be notified of the scholarship decision by:
Undergraduate: June 21, 2025
Master’s: May 30, 2025
