The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended the principal and a teacher of Okota Junior Grammar School for allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old student, an attack that led to the loss of three of his teeth.

The suspects, identified as Principal Kayode Abolarin and Teacher Atueyin Martins, were arrested following a report filed by the victim’s mother at the Isolo Police Division at approximately 11 a.m. on March 11, 2025.

He assured the public that justice would be served, emphasizing the Lagos State Police Command’s commitment to addressing cases of assault, particularly those involving minors.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, also weighed in on the matter, reiterating the force’s dedication to ensuring the safety of students in educational institutions.

“No form of violence, especially within schools, will be tolerated. The command will take strict action against individuals who threaten the safety and well-being of students,” Jimoh stated.

The incident has sparked widespread public outrage, with many calling for stricter measures to prevent violence in schools.

Authorities have assured that the case will be handled with urgency to ensure justice for the victim.
