The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has extended the registration deadline for the 2025 Second Series of the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates to Friday, September 19, 2025.
The initial deadline was September 5, but WAEC announced the extension via its official account on X (formerly Twitter).
The statement read:
“The registration period for CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025—Second Series, has been extended to Friday, September 19, 2025. All prospective candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The extension gives more time for interested candidates to register, especially amid ongoing public concerns and skepticism about the council’s transition from manual to digital registration and examination processes.
