The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, has confirmed the receipt of ₦7,636,800 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) under the Federal Government’s Student Loan Programme. The funds were disbursed to support 157 beneficiary students of the institution.
This was disclosed in an official letter dated November 7, 2025, issued by the Office of the Rector and addressed to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND in Abuja. The letter acknowledged the payment and expressed the institution’s appreciation for the intervention.
According to the polytechnic, the funds represent tuition-related payments on behalf of the benefiting students. The institution stated that it would reconcile payments already made by students and ensure that any excess amounts are refunded directly to the affected students’ bank accounts, in line with transparency and accountability standards.
The management further assured NELFUND that evidence of all refunds and transactions would be communicated to the agency as requested. The letter was signed by the Bursar, Alh. Sama’una Nuhu, on behalf of the Rector, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to proper fund management and compliance with the objectives of the student loan scheme.
The development marks another step in the implementation of the Federal Government’s education financing initiative aimed at improving access to tertiary education for Nigerian students.
