It was a moment of celebration in Iseyin, Oyo State, as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, commissioned a Grade AOKE Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre, alongside newly constructed classrooms, laboratories and administrative offices on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The state-of-the-art CBT centre was built, fully equipped and donated to JAMB by Ahmed Raji (SAN), a distinguished legal practitioner and philanthropist. The commissioning ceremony drew prominent personalities from across Oyo State and beyond, including traditional rulers, political leaders, religious figures, education stakeholders, and indigenes of Iseyin, all of whom applauded the donor’s enduring commitment to educational development.
In his remarks, Mr. Raji expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of Prof. Oloyede, noting that the Registrar’s visionary reforms have significantly advanced tertiary education administration in Nigeria. He thanked the JAMB Registrar for accepting to take over the facility for operational use and for his unwavering dedication to strengthening educational standards nationwide.
In a significant gesture, Mr. Raji, through the Raji Oke-Esa Foundation, instituted academic prizes for outstanding students of Raji Oke-Esa Memorial Comprehensive High School.
Notably, the overall best graduating student’s award was named the “Prof. Oloyede Prize” in recognition of the Registrar’s contributions to academic scholarship and educational reform.
The prize, according to Mr. Raji, will sponsor the recipient’s university education.
Commissioning the facility, Prof. Oloyede described the centre as a bold testament to the generosity and foresight of one of Nigeria’s foremost legal minds and a proud son of Iseyin.
He explained that the centre, donated to the Federal Government of Nigeria and entrusted to JAMB, represents a critical intervention in the country’s education infrastructure and would significantly enhance access to quality assessment.
The Registrar further noted that the new CBT centre would ease the travel burden of candidates within Oyo State and the wider South-West region, while also strengthening the integrity of public examinations. He described the project as more than just a donation, calling it a strategic contribution to the national fight against examination malpractice.
“This is not just a test centre,” he stated, “but a temple of opportunities for generations to come.”
Prof. Oloyede assured the donor and the community that JAMB would deploy the necessary technical expertise to ensure proper maintenance and sustainability of the facility.
He urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Mr. Raji’s example, describing the gesture as a clarion call for collective responsibility in nation building. He also encouraged young people to view the event as an invitation to strive for excellence, stressing that the commissioning marked the birth of a lasting legacy.
In his vote of thanks, former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Adeolu Akande, commended Mr. Raji for his timely intervention and praised Prof. Oloyede as a transformative leader who has consistently demonstrated uncommon dedication to public service.
Similarly, the Ibadan Zonal Director of JAMB, Mrs. Temitope Akintola, expressed gratitude to the donor for his lifelong commitment to education and national development. She also lauded the Registrar’s leadership, noting that his clarity of vision and integrity have strengthened the Board’s credibility and attracted meaningful partnerships.
