The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦12,472,900 to 86 students of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State, for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The disbursement, which was credited on April 29, 2026, covers the statutory charges of the beneficiaries, providing critical financial support to enable them continue their academic pursuits without interruption.
The intervention is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to expand access to higher education and reduce the financial burden on students through the NELFUND scheme.
College authorities welcomed the development, noting that the funding would ease the pressure on students and their families while enhancing academic stability and retention.
The beneficiaries are among thousands of students across tertiary institutions in Nigeria benefiting from the student loan programme introduced under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Stakeholders in the education sector have continued to commend the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards ensuring that no qualified Nigerian student is denied access to education due to financial constraints.
With the latest disbursement, students of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, can pursue their studies with renewed confidence, in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for education and human capital development.
