The 14th Annual Association of Private Educators in Nigeria (APEN) Conference commenced today at The Jewel Aeida, gathering educational leaders from across Nigeria.
This year’s theme, “Ethical Intelligence: Redefining Educational Values,” has set a platform for two days of in-depth discussions on enhancing educational standards with a focus on moral and ethical guidance.
Throughout the event, private educators and stakeholders are participating in panels and workshops exploring the role of ethics in modern education.
Organisers underscore the aim to promote educational practices that go beyond academic success, prioritising ethical values to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
“At APEN, we are committed to raising excellent leaders grounded in moral and ethical values,” stated a spokesperson. “This year’s conference focuses on redefining these values to align with 21st-century needs.”
Day 1 featured an inspiring keynote address by Professor Lere Baale, who discussed the significance of ethical and moral values in education. The session provided attendees with a fresh perspective on the transformative power of ethical intelligence in schools.
Day 1 also included breakout sessions that participants found eye-opening and motivational. “There’s so much we can impart to the world through education,” shared one attendee. Many remarked that the discussions laid out practical steps and action plans for advancing education and moral values, recognising that the conference represents a major stride in APEN’s ongoing efforts to elevate private education standards in Nigeria.
The conference, which concludes tomorrow, is expected to deliver impactful insights for educators striving to lead with ethical intelligence and foster educational excellence.
