In a bid to promote gender inclusivity in science, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) organized a STEM outreach program at Government Girls Science School, Dutse, to commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
The event featured an inspiring session with Engr. Janet Adeyemi, President, Women in Mining in Nigeria (WMIN) who shared her remarkable journey in the field of science, highlighting the challenges she faced while navigating stereotypes and societal prejudices.
She encouraged the students to embrace careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), emphasizing the need for resilience and determination.
The outreach aligns with global efforts to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields and foster an environment where young girls can pursue scientific careers without limitations.
