5 Identity Rules JAMB Sets for 2026 UTME Candidates Explained
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued strong warnings to candidates preparing for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry. Here’s what it all means, in clear terms:
🔹 When Registration Starts
UTME & Direct Entry registration:
Monday, January 26 – Saturday, February 28, 2026
🔹 Age Requirement
Minimum age: 16 years
Underage candidates will only be considered under strict waiver conditions.
🔹 Biodata Is Final 🚨
JAMB will use your biodata directly from NIMC.
Once you register, your biodata cannot be changed.
No corrections to name, date of birth, or gender will be allowed after registration.
👉🏾 This means: check your NIN details very carefully before registering.
🔹 NIMC Updates? Read This Carefully
Any change made at NIMC after registration will NOT reflect automatically on JAMB records.
Updates will only apply through a special RE-QUERY process (TEMPL 007) during registration.
If you don’t follow this process, JAMB will not recognise the changes.
🔹 One Identity Only
Using multiple identities or records is strictly prohibited.
JAMB warned candidates not to register with different names, NINs, or profiles.
Doing so can lead to disqualification.
🔹 Protect Your Profile 🔐
Do NOT share your:
Profile code
Password
Security details
With anyone — including:
Parents
Friends
Tutorial centres
Agents or fraudsters
👉🏾 If someone tampers with your data using your details, you will be held responsible.
🔹 Key Takeaway
✔️ Verify your NIMC details early
✔️ Register only once
✔️ Keep your login details private
✔️ Understand that no post-registration changes will be tolerated
Bottom line:
For 2026 UTME, your identity is your admission. Handle it with care.
