The Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri, has received a total of ₦79,503,000 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2025/2026 academic session, providing financial support for 1,620 students of the institution.
The disbursement, which was credited on January 6, 2026, is designated to cover the institution’s statutory charges, ensuring that eligible students can continue their academic pursuits without financial barriers.
The intervention reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to quality higher education through the Renewed Hope Agenda. By easing the burden of educational expenses, the NELFUND initiative continues to empower students and promote uninterrupted learning across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
University management and beneficiaries have welcomed the development, noting that the support will significantly reduce financial challenges faced by students and their families.
The latest disbursement underscores NELFUND’s ongoing efforts to make higher education more accessible and affordable for Nigerian students, while strengthening the nation’s human capital development goals
