Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri, has acknowledged the receipt of ₦5.246 million from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to cover the registration fees of 108 students under the Federal Government’s Student Loan Programme.
In a letter dated June 8, 2026, and signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti, the institution confirmed receiving ₦5,143,400 for the Ninth Batch and ₦103,000 for the Tenth Batch of beneficiaries, bringing the total disbursement to ₦5,246,400.
According to the university, the funds will cover the registration fees of 107 students in the Ninth Batch and one student in the Tenth Batch for the 2025/2026 academic session, ensuring the beneficiaries’ continued academic stability.
The university expressed appreciation to NELFUND for the timely release of the funds, describing the intervention as critical to supporting students’ access to higher education.
Kashim Ibrahim University also urged the agency to continue the disbursement of loans to subsequent batches of eligible students, reaffirming its commitment to the successful implementation of the Student Loan Programme.
