Prof Olanrewaju described the project as a game-changer for the banking profession which “heralds the dawn of a richer, more dynamic academic journey for generations of students.”
“By providing a facility that is accessible to all, we are opening doors for young people, women, and underrepresented groups to receive high-quality training in an environment designed to foster effective learning,” he said.

CIBN Registrar/CEO, Mr. Akin Morakinyo(left), makes a point before the guests and officials at the commissioning.

According to him, the Bankers Hall represents the power of collaboration and will serve as a “vibrant hub where ideas are cultivated, skills are honed, and the leaders of tomorrow are equipped to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of banking and finance.”
Prof. Olanrewaju highlighted the shared values between the CIBN and Babcock University, noting that the Hall is one of the “passports we are issuing to prepare the leaders of tomorrow’s financial system.”

He said Babcock holds a “distinct position” in the history of the linkage programme, being the very first private university in Nigeria to embrace this initiative. He stressed that the project exemplifies the institution’s unwavering commitment to professionalism across all disciplines.

President/Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, expressed gratitude for the CIBN’s support, highlighting the robust relationship between the two institutions. “The partnership has promoted financial literacy, shaped the future of professionals, and enhanced the university’s infrastructure,” he said.
