The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that its 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) aptitude test will commence on **27 July** and end on **31 July**, warning candidates to strictly adhere to examination guidelines or risk disqualification.
The warning was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the University’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, **Mrs Abosede Wickliffe**, who outlined the procedures and requirements for the online screening exercise.
According to the registrar, the aptitude test will be conducted entirely online under remotely proctored examination conditions, requiring candidates to comply fully with all instructions throughout the exercise.
She explained that candidates must use only laptops equipped with built-in webcams and microphones, stressing that mobile phones, tablets, external webcams, smart glasses, headphones and other electronic devices are prohibited during the examination.
Mrs Wickliffe further stated that candidates must remain alone in a quiet, well-lit environment throughout the 30-minute examination, warning that speaking, reading questions aloud or allowing unauthorised persons into the examination area would constitute examination misconduct.
She advised candidates to ensure they have stable internet connectivity and uninterrupted electricity supply, noting that the university would not be responsible for disruptions caused by power outages, poor network service or other technical issues beyond its control.
Candidates experiencing technical challenges during the examination were urged to immediately use the **”Need Help?”** feature available on the examination platform.
The registrar also disclosed that participation in the mock examination, available until **25 July**, is compulsory for all candidates. She explained that the exercise is designed to test device compatibility, webcam functionality, internet connectivity and overall system readiness ahead of the main examination.
She noted that the Safe Examination Browser supports only devices running **Windows 10 or later** and **macOS Ventura or later**, urging candidates to use the same laptop, internet connection and examination environment for both the mock test and the actual screening.
Mrs Wickliffe warned candidates against patronising unauthorised individuals, cybercafés, business centres or Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres claiming affiliation with the university, emphasising that the screening exercise would be conducted strictly online from locations selected by candidates.
She added that the only approved fee for the Post-UTME screening is **₦5,500**, comprising **₦2,000** for the application fee and **₦3,500** as administrative charges.
The registrar advised prospective students to obtain information only from the university’s official website and verified communication channels, warning that fraud, impersonation, unauthorised assistance and other forms of examination malpractice could lead to the cancellation of applications or examination results.
She reaffirmed that all decisions regarding the conduct and outcome of the 2026/2027 Post-UTME aptitude test would be final and binding.
