At Prodigy Finance, our mission is to remove funding barriers to make education accessible for all. We’ve supported over 45,000 students globally with our loans and awarded $550,000 in scholarships through our esteemed partners.

Prodigy Finance will award 8 scholarships across 6 categories, with prizes ranging from $1,000 – $8,000, to outstanding students starting their academic journey from August 2025.

Scholarship categories

  1. GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP: 2 prizes of $5,000. Open to students from all Prodigy support regions, our seasonal scholarship is for high potential students who need extra funding support and plan to use their education to better their communities and demonstrate the impact of educational opportunities.   2. AFRICAN STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP: 2 prizes of $5,000. In its commitment to support top African talent access their academic dreams, Prodigy Finance will award 2 scholarships to students from Prodigy supported African regions to enable their studies abroad. T&C Apply
  3. FUTURE FEMALE LEADERS TUTION ASSISTANCE AWARD: 1 prize of $8,000. Esade believes in empowering women to achieve their dreams and make a lasting impact in the world of business. This award supports talented female candidates applying for the Full-Time MBA, Executive MBA, MSc in Finance, or MSc in International Management for Fall 2025. Esade believes in empowering women to achieve their dreams and make a lasting impact in the world of business. T&C Apply
  4. AFRICAN STUDENT MACHTING SCHOLARSHIP: 1 prize of $5,000. This collaborative opportunity is specifically for African students who aspire to pursue graduate business programs such as the MBA, Innovation MBA, MS in Accountancy and Analytics, and MS in Business Analytics.Prodigy Finance will award $2,500 to the successful applicant, with the College of Business matching this prize for a total scholarship of $5,000 towards your studies in Fall 2025.   5. STUDENT MACHTING SCHOLARSHIP: 1 prize of $1,000. Study North Carolina’s member institutions work to showcase North Carolina internationally as a premier study destination. This scholarship aims to promote opportunities within the state and support international students aspiring to earn a graduate degree in North Carolina. T&C Apply
  6. STUDENT MACHTING SCHOLARSHIP: 1 prize of $5,000. This collaborative scholarship demonstrates Maurer School of Law’s commitment to supporting talented students from Africa in pursuing law degrees at Indiana University. The school will match Prodigy’s scholarship of $2,500 for a total prize of $5,000 for one African student demonstrating high academic achievement, need, and dedication to using their degree to benefit their communities. The Prodigy Finance African Student Scholarship – 2 prizes of $5,000 each

The University of Louisville – College of Business African Student Matching Scholarship – 1 prize of $5,000

Indiana University – Maurer School of Law Student Matching Scholarship – 1 prize of $5,000

Esade Future Female Leaders – 1 prize of $8,000

Study North Carolina Student Matching Scholarship – 1 prize of $1,000

Awards

Academic Intake: Fall ‘25

 

Eligibility

Eligibility varies depending on the individual scholarship for which you are applying. Generally, you are eligible to apply for an international student scholarship with Prodigy Finance if you’re:

  • Beginning your postgraduate studies in the Fall 2025 semester
  • Admitted to a Prodigy-supported program of study
  • Students applying for the Study North Carolina Scholarship may be attending any of the organization’s supported schools
  • From a Prodigy supported region
  • A high-potential individual who can articulate how these funds will impact their ability to earn a degree.
  • Willing to share your story on our platforms (see Terms and Conditions)

You can only submit one scholarship application. You may submit a scholarship application regardless of where you are in the loan or admissions process during the open period

How does it work?

  • Fill out the form and submit your entry during the application period from 14 March to 14 April 2025 (8:00 AM EST).
  • Ensure you have or will have been accepted to a Prodigy-supported program of study for the Fall semester 2025 by 2 May 2025.
  • Submissions for each category will be reviewed by an internal committee and narrowed to 10 finalists. Winners will be selected from the group of finalists and the remaining finalists will be considered alternates if a winner is unable to fulfill requirements.
  • Scholarship recipient announcement: 2 May 2025

Winners can choose to have their funds disbursed directly to their school as a tuition payment or credit to their total loan amount, depending on the Terms and Conditions of the award. If you need to defer your studies, your funds will be held for one semester. Scholarship funds are intended for study and will not be released directly to student bank accounts or during non study periods.

How are scholarship applications assessed?

Scholarship recipients are chosen based on eligibility for their chosen scholarship category and our internal assessment criteria.

Our internal shortlisting procedure will consider the following:

  • Skills-based criteria: Your written ability to articulate answers to entry essay questions; the quality of your writing skills, and the clarity of your written thoughts.
  • Motivational criteria: The content of your answers to entry essay questions. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
  • Drive to study abroad in their chosen field
  • Career and personal goals
  • Need and impact for scholarship and funding
  • Desire to help others access their academic dreams

 

Who should apply?

  1. Individuals beginning their studies at one of the schools we support in the Fall ‘25 semester.
  2. Intended Prodigy Finance customers seeking financial support to fund their education.
  3. Students from Prodigy supported regions.
  4. High-potential individuals who can articulate how these funds will impact their ability to earn a degree.
