Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has dismissed three staff members over alleged misconduct.
According to a statement signed by the university’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Malam Isma’ila Muhammad Yauri, the decision was made during the 171st regular meeting of the institution’s Governing Council, held on March 12, 2025.
The affected staff were accused of offenses including result alteration, sexual harassment, and absconding from duty.
Meanwhile, the council approved the promotion of nine lecturers to the rank of professor and ten others to the position of reader.
Additionally, 33 academic staff were elevated to senior lecturer status, while 33 senior non-academic staff also received promotions.
