The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports, Prince Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, has announced a strategic partnership with the Sports Africa Investment Summit (SAIS2025) to drive infrastructure development and mass participation in grassroots sports.
For the first time, the presidency has appointed a Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports, signaling the government’s commitment to sports development. Prince Adeboye will be a key panelist at SAIS2025, where he will discuss “Developing a Sustainable and Inclusive Sport Sector in an Environment of Safety, Security, and Integrity.”
A major focus of the summit is Spaces 4 Sports, a flagship initiative by Sport Nigeria LTD aimed at increasing access to shared sports facilities in communities. The initiative seeks to encourage sports participation, develop local talent, and strengthen Nigeria’s sports economy through strategic infrastructure investments.
Speaking ahead of the event, Prince Adeboye emphasized the critical role of grassroots sports in national development.
“Investing in inclusive and accessible facilities is not just about playing the game; it is about fostering talent, strengthening communities, and fueling the economic potential of sports,” he said. “SAIS2025 provides a vital platform to drive these conversations and unlock new opportunities for grassroots sports development in Nigeria and across Africa.”
As Nigeria explores sports as a tool for economic diversification, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports remains committed to expanding access, increasing participation, and leveraging sports as a vehicle for economic growth.
