Applications are open for the Life-Baker Rising Stars Academic Competition 2026. Organised by Life-Baker Group of Schools as part of its 20th anniversary celebration, the free competition will identify and reward exceptional pupils and students through a rigorous computer-based academic assessment.
Participants will compete in Mathematics, English and General Paper across three categories. The competition will take place on Saturday, 1 August 2026, at Life-Baker College in Ijoko, Ogun State. Results will be processed on the same day, subject to audit and verification.
About the Competition
The Rising Stars Academic Competition is a merit-based educational initiative created to recognise academic excellence and provide school-fee scholarships to high-performing learners. It is an academic competition, not a conventional scholarship application: awards are determined by performance, ranking, verification and the competition rules.
Registration is free. Every entry will be reviewed, and only approved participants will receive competition instructions. Registration does not guarantee approval, participation or an award.
Competition Categories
Junior Rising Star: For pupils currently in Basic 6/Primary 6 and moving into JSS1 in September 2026.
Intermediate Rising Star: For students currently in JSS1 or JSS2 and moving into JSS2 or JSS3 in September 2026.
Senior Rising Star: For students currently in SS1 and moving into SS2 in September 2026.
Prizes
Twenty successful participants will receive scholarships with a combined academic value of ₦20,000,000.
Grand Scholars: The top eligible participant in each category may receive full school-fee coverage through graduation, subject to scoring at least 85%, ranking first in the category, verification and final approval.
Merit and Recognition Scholarships: Additional high-performing participants will receive scholarship awards based on their results and final ranking.
All prizes are academic value redeemable only at Life-Baker Group of Schools. They are non-transferable and cannot be
exchanged or redeemed for cash.
Eligibility
Open to pupils and students currently in Basic 6, JSS1, JSS2 or SS1.
Applicants may attend any school, provided they are in one of the eligible classes.
Participants must be available to sit the in-person CBT competition on 1 August 2026.
Entries must contain accurate participant and parent/guardian information. Duplicate entries, impersonation, false information or misconduct may lead to disqualification.
Selection and Award Conditions
Registration entries will be reviewed before participants are approved.
Awards will be based on verified CBT scores, category ranking and compliance with the competition rules.
A Grand Scholarship requires a minimum score of 85% and first place in the relevant category. If no participant meets the benchmark, Life-Baker may decide not to award the Grand Scholarship in that category.
