Education District VI has inducted 80 newly employed teachers, reinforcing the state’s commitment to renewing and strengthening its education system and promoting professional excellence.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Mojisola Christiana Yusuff, Education District VI, urged the new educators to embrace their roles with dedication, discipline, and integrity. She highlighted the importance of respecting students, preparing lesson notes ahead of time, and maintaining professional conduct. Teachers were also reminded to understand the Child Protection and Safeguarding Act, engage parents with civility, and avoid financial embarrassment by living within their means.
Mrs. Yusuff issued a stern warning against the “3 Is” that undermine the education system: illegal admissions, illegal collection of money, and illicit affairs within the school environment. She further advised that teachers who wish to resign should exit the service properly rather than absconding.
Other Directors present also offered guidance, encouraging the inductees to familiarise themselves with the Public Service Rules and uphold the values of accountability and professionalism.
The ceremony concluded with congratulatory messages to the new teachers as they embark on their noble journey of shaping the future through education.
