Rugby Star-Turned-Doctor Launches App to Revolutionize Healthcare in Nigeria
From playing in the Independence Day Rugby 7s tournament twelve years ago in Lagos to developing an innovative health app set to tackle major healthcare challenges, Dr. Tom Cracknell has come full circle.
Having experienced firsthand the difficulties many Nigerians face in accessing proper medical consultation and diagnostics, Dr. Cracknell — now a certified medical doctor — decided to create a solution. His app, Koyo Health Tech, bridges the gap by connecting users directly to verified doctors through their phones, bringing quality consultation right to their doorsteps and reducing the temptation to rely on roadside chemists or self-proclaimed “doctors.”
This week, Dr. Cracknell returns to Nigeria to officially launch Koyo Health Tech, a project he’s spent the last five years developing specifically for Nigerians.
As a gesture of appreciation to his brothers and sisters in the Nigerian rugby community, Tom is offering a promo code — Koyo50 — for half-price consultations. Even better, users who share the app with their networks can earn credits for free consultations.
The official launch takes place this Saturday in Abuja, and all rugby players are warmly invited as his special guests. Dr. Cracknell hopes to continue supporting rugby in Nigeria as Koyo Health Tech grows — and looks forward to meeting members of the community throughout the week’s post-launch activities.
