The Minister of Education of Rwanda, Joseph Nsengimana, on Tuesday visited the German University in Cairo (GUC), as part of efforts to strengthen international academic collaboration and expand opportunities for Rwandan students.
During the visit in Cairo, the Minister was received by the university’s President, Ashraf Mansour. He was taken on a guided tour of the institution, where he observed its modern facilities, interactive learning spaces, and student-focused academic environment.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Minister to gain first-hand insight into GUC’s educational model, which combines strong academic standards with practical, skills-based training and close collaboration with industry.
Discussions between both parties centred on potential areas of cooperation, including scholarship opportunities for Rwandan students, capacity building initiatives, and institutional partnerships. These efforts, officials noted, are aimed at strengthening skills development, advancing research, and driving innovation in key sectors critical to Rwanda’s growth.
The engagement underscores Rwanda’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of education through global partnerships and knowledge exchange.
