The Ministry of Primary & Secondary Education, Zimbabwe (MoPSE), in partnership with Think Equal , is strengthening the implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in the country under the TEACH Programme.
Think Equalโs Chief Impact and Sustainability Officer, Mr Richard King, is touring Manicaland, one of the implementing provinces, to assess progress and deepen collaboration with the Ministry and its partners.
The tour began in Mutare with an engagement with the Ministryโs Provincial Education Directorate, attended by the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Hon. A. Gata. In her remarks, Hon. Gata paid tribute to Think Equal and other implementing partners, including EDT and REPSSI, for investing in building a future generation of learners who can manage emotions, show empathy and resolve conflict amicably.
The delegation then proceeded to Zimunya Primary School, where they observed a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session in progress. The team was impressed by the high level of participation, professionalism and practical integration of SEL into classroom practice.
The monitoring and learning tour continues with visits to schools in Nyanga District, where the team will interact with teachers and learners to further appreciate the impact of SEL on early childhood development.
Through the Think Equal programme, MoPSE continues to strengthen holistic education, nurturing learners who are academically capable, emotionally intelligent and socially responsible.
