No fewer than 100,000 trainees under the second phase of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA) will sit for examinations on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, across the country.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by ITF’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Thomas Ngor, the examinations will be conducted by the Chartered Institute of Project Management of Nigeria.
They will assess trainees’ knowledge of soft skills, including project management, occupational health and safety, and professional ethics—core modules of the SUPA curriculum aimed at raising artisans’ competence to international standards.
The ITF Director-General and Chief Executive, Dr. Afiz Ogun, reiterated the Fund’s determination to train, certify, and license Nigerian artisans with globally recognised credentials.
“Our goal is to build an indigenous workforce capable of competing with their global peers,” Dr. Ogun said, stressing that internationally accredited certifications would not only improve employability but also tackle unemployment and related socio-economic challenges.
The Skill-Up Artisans Programme is one of ITF’s flagship initiatives to boost technical capacity, reduce reliance on foreign artisans, and empower Nigerians with market-ready skills.
