The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained why some candidates may not find their names on the matriculation list.
In an explainer video shared on its official X account on Friday, the board identified three common reasons candidates may be missing from the list. JAMB noted that the first reason is the most common, while the third is the most important.
Here are the three things to check:
1. You have not accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS
JAMB said candidates whose admission status shows “Not Admitted” may not appear on the matriculation list.
The board advised affected candidates to return to their institutions and have their admissions properly processed on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
2. Your institution has not forwarded your verified admission details
Some candidates may also be missing because their institutions have not forwarded their verified matriculation details to JAMB.
If this applies to you, JAMB advised you to contact your institution’s admission office and ensure that your admission is properly processed on CAPS.
3. You have not printed your original JAMB documents
JAMB identified this as another reason a candidate’s name may be absent from the matriculation list.
Candidates are expected to print their JAMB original result slip and admission letter.
If you have not done this, the board advised you to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre to print the documents.
JAMB urged candidates to take the necessary steps to resolve any of these issues and follow its official social media platforms for further updates and guidance.
