Nigerian-American educator and STEM advocate, Dr. Adetola Salau, is set to unveil two transformational books on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Lagos.
The launch is expected to attract leading policymakers, educators, and changemakers from Nigeria and the diaspora.
Currently serving as the Special Adviser on Education Policy Formation and Human Capital Development to the Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Salau’s work sits at the intersection of innovation, policy, and inclusive education.
With these two new publications, she continues to challenge traditional educational paradigms while offering practical, locally relevant solutions for African learning ecosystems.
Her first book, Bridging Two Worlds, is a reflective memoir that chronicles her transition from a thriving engineering career in the United States to becoming a reformer in Nigeria’s education sector. It offers an intimate exploration of her experiences across Lagos and Kwara States, revealing the emotional and institutional challenges of education reform in Africa.
More than just a personal story, the book serves as a roadmap for aspiring educators, policymakers, and anyone passionate about transforming systems from within.
The second title, Reimagining African Education, takes a policy-forward approach, offering a blueprint for revamping learning systems on the continent. It addresses urgent issues like emotional intelligence in the classroom, teacher training, curriculum design, the strategic use of data, and integrating technology to create future-ready learners.
Packed with actionable strategies and context-specific frameworks, the book is poised to become a vital resource for Africa’s education stakeholders.
Dr. Salau’s dual launch underscores a pressing need: African education systems must evolve to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
Through these works, she calls on governments, educators, and communities to adopt holistic, forward-thinking solutions that are not only innovative but also culturally and contextually grounded.
Editor’ Note: Edutimes Africa celebrates this milestone and commends Dr. Salau’s ongoing commitment to building an inclusive and globally competitive educational future for Africa.
