The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, on Friday led a delegation to a sensitization programme held at the Crownbirth Event Centre, Ijebu-Ife, Ogun State.
The event, hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde (Hacco), and sponsored by Otunba Femi Adewumi, aimed to enlighten students and parents of public tertiary institutions on how to apply for and access the NELFUND student loan.
Mr. Sawyerr was accompanied by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Dr. Femi Fred Akinfala, alongside key officials of the Fund. The delegation included Mr. Sola Fowobaje, Director of SERVICOM; Dr. Folusho Ayodeji, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics; Mr. Nasir Ayitogo, Technical Assistant to the MD/CE; and other senior staff members.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sawyerr emphasized the importance of the sensitization exercise in ensuring that students and their families clearly understand how the Fund operates and how to benefit from it.
He noted that the visit formed part of NELFUND’s ongoing stakeholder engagement drive across the Southwest, designed to deepen awareness about the Fund’s mandate among students, parents, traditional rulers, and other key community figures.
The sensitization programme also provided an opportunity for participants to ask questions and gain firsthand insight into the processes of loan application and disbursement.
