Job Title: Accountant
Reports to: CFO
Location:  Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time (On-site)
Remuneration: 350k – 450k (based on experience)

We are a growing food and commodity firm and as we expand our operations, we are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accountant to join our finance team and be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimizing our cost structures.

Key Responsibilities
– Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
– Monitor production costs, manage inventory valuations, and perform regular stock reconciliations to minimize wastage.
– Oversee tax filings (VAT, WHT, CIT) and ensure the company remains 100% compliant with local and federal regulations.
– Assist management in preparing annual budgets and monitoring variances to ensure fiscal discipline.
– Facilitate internal and external audits by providing organized and transparent financial documentation.
– Manage the accounts payable/receivable cycle to ensure healthy cash flow.

Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
– Professional certification such as ICAN is highly preferred.
– Minimum of 4 years progressive accounting experience. Prior experience preferably within the Agro, Manufacturing, or FMCG sectors will be an added advantage.
– Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks etc) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
– A sharp eye for discrepancies and a commitment to data integrity.
