The African Union (AU) has opened applications for its 2026 Internship Programme, offering young Africans an opportunity to gain professional experience while contributing to the work of the continental body.
The internship is designed for undergraduate students in their final year, recent graduates, and postgraduate degree holders from African Union member states. It aims to equip participants with practical skills, professional exposure, and networking opportunities within the AU.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be nationals of an African Union member state.
Be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree programme or hold a bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification.
Be fluent in at least one AU working language (English, French, Arabic or Portuguese).
Be no older than 32 years at the time of selection.
Demonstrate high moral integrity and have no serious criminal convictions.
No prior work experience is required.
