The AFC Fellowship is a leadership development and dialogue program connecting emerging leaders from Africa, the global South, and the global North. It focuses on climate challenges and other pressing global issues, aiming to equip participants with the ability to work “beyond authority”—solving problems across boundaries and sectors.
The fellowship is run by the Africa Finance Corporation in partnership with Common Purpose, building on a successful 2023 pilot with 50 participants worldwide.
Eligibility
Applicants should be:
Emerging leaders with 5+ years of professional experience
Highly motivated, committed to positive change, and able to demonstrate leadership potential
Interested in climate action and bridging the global North-South divide
Proficient in written and spoken English
From any sector or background, with diversity encouraged
Programme Structure
October 10, 2024 – Online platform opens (3 hours of independent study)
October 16, 2024 – Launch session (1.5 hrs live)
October 23, November 6 & 14, 2024 – Leading Beyond Authority (6 hrs live total)
December 4-5 & 10-11, 2024 – Climate Challenge Programme (18 hrs live)
December 17, 2024 – Learning & Action Planning (1.5 hrs live)
