🔎 About the Fellowship
Launched in 2018, the Cultural Survival Indigenous Youth Fellowship supports Indigenous youth worldwide to strengthen their cultural identity, uplift community voices, and bring attention to local challenges within national and global dialogues.
So far, the program has awarded 157 fellowships, directly benefiting over 350 Indigenous youth across the globe.
🎯 Fellowship Focus
Projects must align with at least one of these themes:
🌱 Climate Change Solutions – resilience, sustainable practices, adaptation
🪶 Culture and Languages – language revitalization, storytelling, preservation
🌾 Lands and Livelihoods – Indigenous food systems, land stewardship, traditional knowledge
Eligible activities include workshops, capacity building, multimedia projects (film, podcast, photography), cultural documentation, and traditional knowledge sharing.

👥 Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
✅ Identify as Indigenous
✅ Be 18–28 years old (individuals or groups)
✅ Be first-time applicants to this fellowship
✅ Commit to deadlines & partnership with Cultural Survival staff
✅ Ideally speak (or be learning) their Indigenous language
🌸 Special encouragement for women and 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
📌 Priority countries include:
Americas – Costa Rica, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, etc.
Asia – Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Philippines, Mongolia, etc.
Africa – DRC, Uganda, South Africa, Cameroon, Namibia, Tanzania, etc.
📝 Application Process
1. Step 1 – Concept Note: Submit via Google Form (written OR 5-minute video/audio).
📅 Deadline: September 30, 2025.
2. Step 2 – Shortlist: Notified by October 30, 2025; invited to submit full proposal & budget.
3. Final Selection: Fellows announced December 2025.
4. Project Launch: Grants disbursed January 2026. Projects start after March 1, 2026.
