Job Title: Accountant
Location: Abuja, Nigeria (On-site)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional travel outside Abuja required
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

as an Accountant.
About the Role:
The Accountant will oversee Prosolar’s financial operations, ensure accurate company and
project-level accounting, and support leadership with timely financial insights. This role requires
a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of corporate and project accounting.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure up-to-date financial records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, vendor balances, and company expenditures.
• Manage accounts payable, receivables, and cashflow positions.
Project Accounting
• Track and record all project-related expenses for each EPC or mini-grid site.
• Maintain cost breakdowns for materials, subcontractors, labour, logistics, and site
purchases.
• Prepare project cost reports, budget vs actual variance reports, and profitability analysis.
• Monitor project budgets and alert management of cost deviations or risks.
• Work with the engineering and procurement teams to verify financial documentation.
• Support financial reporting required for grants, PBGs, lenders, and auditors.
• Ensure proper filing of all project invoices, receipts, and cost documentation.
Compliance & Internal Control
• Ensure compliance with tax laws: VAT, PAYE, WHT, Pension, and statutory filings.
• Maintain financial controls and enforce company accounting policies.
• Support annual audits and financial reviews with external auditors.
Budgeting & Cost Control
• Assist in preparing annual and project-based budgets.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure efficient cost management.
• Prepare monthly budget performance and variance reports.
Treasury & Administrative Finance
• Manage petty cash, banking activities, and payments.
• Maintain organized documentation for all financial activities.
• Liaise with regulators, vendors, suppliers, and financial institutions.
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 + years of relevant experience in preferably with project accounting exposure.
• Professional certification or ongoing ICAN/ACCA training is an added advantage
• Age range: 24–28 years.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Zoho Books, Microsoft Suites, Sage, or similar software.
• Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills.
• High integrity, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
