Job Title: Cashier

Industry: Oil & Gas (Fueling Station Operations)

Locations:

• Ondo Garage, South Akure

• Ikere Road, South Ado-Ekiti

Job Summary

The Cashier will be responsible for handling all cash and electronic transactions at the fueling station, ensuring accurate billing, proper documentation, and excellent customer service. The role requires honesty, attention to detail, and strict adherence to financial and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Handling & Transactions

• Receive cash, POS, and other approved electronic payments from customers.

• Issue receipts and ensure accurate billing for fuel and other station products.

• Balance cash drawers and POS records at the end of each shift.

• Ensure all collections are properly recorded and handed over in line with company procedures.

Sales & Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate daily sales records and transaction logs.

• Support daily sales reconciliation with pump attendants and the Station Manager.

• Report cash shortages, excesses, or transaction discrepancies promptly.

Customer Service

• Attend to customers politely and professionally at all times.

• Handle basic customer complaints and escalate unresolved issues to the Station Manager.

• Ensure a smooth and efficient checkout experience for customers.

 

Compliance & Controls

• Adhere strictly to company cash-handling policies and internal controls.

• Comply with safety, security, and operational guidelines of the fueling station.

• Ensure POS terminals and cash registers are used appropriately and secured at all times.

Administrative Support

• Maintain proper documentation for transactions, refunds, and adjustments.

• Support inventory and operational audits when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification.

• 1–3 years’ experience as a cashier, preferably in a fueling station, retail, or FMCG environment.

• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.

• Ability to use POS terminals and handle cash accurately.

• High level of integrity and attention to detail.

• Good communication and customer service skills.
