The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA Professor Adenike Oladiji, has advised students to continue to push for excellence as the reward would come in due course. She gave the advice at the FUTA Alumni Association in Diaspora Scholarship award ceremony for the best 100 level students at the end of 2023\2024 academic session in each school in the University on Tuesday 9TH December 2025.
The Vice Chancellor expressed her delight by appreciating the Alumni Diaspora group for the kind gesture. Professor Oladiji said the act of kindness is a testament that FUTA Alumni keep faith to their with their source and responding to the needs of FUTA. She reiterated that excellence always has a reward at every point in time. While congratulating the recipients she affirmed that this would encourage and motivate other students to work harder.
Speaking earlier the Director, University Advancement Centre, Professor Philip Oguntunde congratulated the awardees for a job well done. He stated that the Scholarship award was instituted by the FUTA alumni Association Diaspora Group for the best 100 level students cutting across all the Schools. He thanked the management and the FUTA Alumni Association Diaspora group for creating a conducive environment for the students to excel and for giving back to the institution that molded them.
Professor Oguntunde urged other Alumni branches and chapters worldwide to emulate the Diaspora Group. He noted that the gesture is a proof that as worthy ambassadors of FUTA they will continue to impact the lives of students.
In a remark the representative of the Alumni Association Diaspora Group, Mrs. Yewande Arogundade, thanked the management and FUTA at large for giving them the opportunity to contribute their own quota to the growth and development of their Alma mater. She congratulated the awardees and urged them not to rest on their oars.
On behalf of the awardees ,Ayeni Olaitan, described the scholarship as a great honour and equally assured the group and management that they will not disappoint or fail them as to whom much is given much is expected.
The Ten Recipients : Olorunfemi Gloria, Kukuru Temoweikuro, Afunso Ayatullah, Ayeni Peter, Oguntunde Moyinoluwa, Ajagbe Oluwatobiloba, Adeyemo Eriola, Abdulrahman Kahlid Adetunji Olumide and Opayinka Oluwatobiloba.
