The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, and it forms a critical part of the Renewed Hope agenda. Its goal is to build Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power the country’s digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter. The first phase of the programme, executed in collaboration with NITDA, involves multiple stakeholders including fellows, training providers, partners and placement organisations.
The first phase of the programme kicked off in December 2023 with 30,000 fellows selected across all 36 states and the FCT. The fellows went through an intense learning journey that included self-paced online courses and physical applied learning sessions, executed in partnership with 120+ organizations.
The second phase of the programme will train 270,00 technical talents in three cohorts of 60,000, 90,000 and 120,000 respectively. The 3MTT programme is executed in collaboration with hundreds of applied learning clusters, state governments, development agencies and other key stakeholders.
Oluwakemi Adeosun
Software Development | NextGen Cohort
For Oluwakemi Adeosun, joining the 3MTT NextGen Cohort was an opportunity to turn everyday challenges into technology-driven solutions. Inspired by the delays and inefficiencies she witnessed in manual payroll systems during her NYSC, she set out to build a solution that could improve how Nigerian businesses pay their employees while expanding access to financial services.
Through the skills she strengthened in the programme, Oluwakemi developed SachaPay, a payroll automation and financial identity platform for Nigerian SMEs. The solution streamlines salary payments through one-click bulk disbursements while creating a verified Financial Passport that helps workers build financial credibility and improve access to loans and other financial opportunities.
As the product evolved, so did its impact. Oluwakemi led the development of SachaPay end-to-end, overseeing the frontend and backend architecture, payment integrations, AI capabilities, and product documentation. Her work earned recognition as the winner of the 3MTT Ekiti NextGen Knowledge Showcase 2026 and secured a place in the iDICE Startup Bridge Founders Lab Cohort 1, further validating the platform’s potential as a scalable fintech solution.
Beyond building products, Oluwakemi is committed to creating opportunities for others. Through mentoring young girls in software development and digital skills, she is helping inspire the next generation of technology builders while contributing to a more inclusive digital ecosystem.
Oluwakemi’s journey demonstrates how identifying a local challenge, developing the right skills, and building with purpose can create solutions that improve lives and unlock new opportunities for communities.
Olatunji Oluwaseun Abimbola
Data Science | NextGen Cohort
For Olatunji Oluwaseun Abimbola, joining the 3MTT NextGen Cohort was an opportunity to combine his healthcare background with data science to solve public health challenges at scale. As an optometrist, he had long been committed to improving healthcare, but the programme equipped him with new tools to transform data into solutions that can strengthen communities.
Through the skills he developed in the programme, Olatunji created HealthBridge Nigeria, a community health early warning system that enhances disease surveillance through multilingual USSD symptom reporting and an interactive dashboard for visualizing health trends and potential outbreaks across Nigeria.
As his expertise grew, so did his ability to build impactful solutions. Olatunji strengthened his skills in Python, data visualization, dashboard development, structured problem-solving, user experience design, and technical communication, enabling him to develop solutions that are both technically sound and user-focused.
Beyond technical growth, the programme reshaped his approach to innovation. By combining healthcare expertise with data science, Olatunji is helping demonstrate how technology can strengthen public health systems and improve access to timely, data-driven interventions, particularly in underserved communities.
Olatunji’s journey shows that when domain expertise meets digital skills, technology becomes a powerful tool for creating healthier communities and solving real-world challenges.

Click Register or go directly to: https://app.3mtt.training/apply
Select Apply as a Fellow and complete the registration form. You will be required to provide your NIN or BVN for identity verification.
Check your email and follow the instructions to verify your account.
Once your account has been successfully created, log in and complete your profile. We recommend completing your profile to 100% to ensure you’re ready for the next stage.
Follow the onboarding instructions available on your dashboard and complete the required steps to join an active cohort.
