The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is pleased to announce that the recent uproar between our leadership and the management of NELFUND has been resolved. We appreciate the prompt response and resolution to the issues raised, particularly regarding the sensitization program for the students’ loan.
We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, Managing Director of NELFUND, for his dedication and commitment to the success of the students’ loan program. Since his assumption of office, the loan system has been efficient, and many students have benefited from it. We pass a vote of confidence on him for his great work.
We also commend the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for introducing the students’ loan system, which has made education more accessible and interesting in Nigeria. It is a thoughtful initiative that has positively impacted the lives of many students.
We advise the management of NELFUND to remain focused and avoid distractions from any quarters. As the umbrella body of all Nigerian Students, NANS will always provide the necessary support to ensure the success of the students’ loan program. Any organization claiming to represent NANS is still under our leadership, and we will continue to work collaboratively with NELFUND.
We are excited to announce that the long-overdue sensitization program for the students’ loan will commence in the coming week. Our team, along with experts from NELFUND, will visit various schools, starting from next week, to educate students on the procedures for accessing the loan and how to maximize its benefits.
We look forward to a continued partnership with NELFUND and the federal government to ensure that Nigerian students receive the support they need to succeed. We urge all stakeholders to join hands with us in making education accessible to all Nigerian students.
