The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦289,051,000 to the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo in support of students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The disbursement, made on February 25, 2026, is set to benefit 2,282 students of the institution, covering tuition fees and other statutory charges.
According to details of the intervention, the funding is aimed at ensuring that beneficiaries can continue their academic pursuits without disruption, particularly amid prevailing economic challenges affecting access to higher education in Nigeria.
NELFUND, a flagship initiative of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was established to expand access to higher education through student loans and financial support mechanisms.
Stakeholders have continued to commend the scheme for easing the financial burden on students and their families, while also promoting retention and completion rates in tertiary institutions across the country.
The latest disbursement to the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, underscores the fund’s ongoing commitment to supporting inclusive and uninterrupted learning for Nigerian students.
