In a bid to foster greater collaboration and raise awareness about its initiatives, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has taken its stakeholder engagement drive to Enugu State.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, led a high-powered delegation alongside the Executive Director of Operations, Mr. Mustapha Iyal, for a strategic engagement session with key education stakeholders in the state.
The visit, carried out in collaboration with the Enugu State Ministry of Education, brought together representatives of tertiary institutions, traditional rulers, and other community leaders. The interactive sessions focused on sensitising participants about NELFUND’s role, mission, and the opportunities available to students under its newly launched funding schemes.
Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Sawyerr emphasized the importance of strong local partnerships in ensuring the successful implementation of NELFUND’s programmes. He reiterated the Fund’s commitment to supporting students across the country with access to financial assistance to pursue higher education without economic barriers.
The Executive Director of Operations, Mr. Mustapha Iyal, also highlighted operational frameworks being put in place to ensure a seamless rollout of services in Enugu and other states.
Traditional rulers and institutional representatives expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged their support to ensure its success at the grassroots level.
The session marks one of several nationwide efforts by NELFUND to establish enduring relationships with education stakeholders and foster trust in the Fund’s long-term impact.
