The leadership of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and key stakeholders of the Renewed Hope Administration on Thursday renewed their commitment to widening Nigerian students’ access to affordable education financing.
During a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr, the delegation—led by Prince Ade Omole and accompanied by Prince Adewale Akinleye and Hon. Aisha Oluwakemi Ololade—praised the Fund’s impact so far. Mrs Oluwatuyi Oseyemi, NELFUND’s Director of Strategy and Communications, was also present.
Prince Omole commended Sawyerr’s leadership, describing the successful disbursement of education loans to more than one million students as a “major lift for young Nigerians” and a testament to the Tinubu administration’s focus on human capital development.
He noted that the initiative was already easing the financial burden on families and giving more students a chance to stay in school without fear of dropping out.
Responding, Sawyerr restated the Fund’s commitment to transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery. He said these values were necessary to build trust and ensure that students who genuinely need support can access it without barriers.
He also applauded the Renewed Hope Global Tour, saying its efforts had helped spotlight Nigeria’s achievements on the global stage.
The meeting ended with both sides pledging stronger collaboration to further drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and ensure that more Nigerian students benefit from the loan scheme.
