The management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has confirmed a fatal electrocution incident at its College of Medicine, Idi-Araba campus.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the university disclosed that the tragic incident occurred at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) and involved a sales assistant working with a food vendor operating within a commercial outlet on the premises.
UNILAG expressed deep sorrow over the development and extended condolences to the family, friends and associates of the deceased.
The institution urged members of the university community and the general public to refrain from speculation, noting that the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by the appropriate authorities.
The statement, signed by Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the Communication Unit, on behalf of the university management, reaffirmed that the safety and wellbeing of staff, students and visitors remain a top priority for the institution.
