The Nigerian Army has opened its doors to qualified Nigerians seeking to serve the country as commissioned officers, announcing the commencement of applications for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026.
The application, according to a statement shared on the Nigerian Army’s official X handle on Tuesday, is open to both civilians and serving military personnel with relevant professional qualifications.
Successful candidates will be commissioned into specialised corps of the Nigerian Army, where they will contribute their skills to national defence and security operations.
The Army listed the available corps to include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
Applications are free and must be submitted online. The recruitment portal will be open from January 7 to February 4, 2026.
Prospective applicants have been advised to apply early and ensure that all information provided during registration is accurate and complete.
