The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Adenike Oladiji, has been officially honoured with the Award of Excellence as Distinguished Educationist and Administrator of the Year 2025 by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council.
The prestigious award was presented during the PEN-GANZA & AWARD Nite, held at the NUJ Press Centre, Alagbaka, Akure, as part of the weeklong Press/Media Week celebrations on Sunday, 21st December 2025. The Vice Chancellor was represented at the occasion by the Director, Corporate Communication and Protocol FUTA Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo.
In commending Professor Oladiji, the NUJ recognised her outstanding contributions to the development of education in Nigeria and her exemplary service as a committed university administrator. The union described the award as the “biggest and most credible” in Ondo State, highlighting her integrity, dedication, and visionary leadership in the academic sector.
Members of the press and distinguished guests praised Professor Oladiji’s achievements, noting that her commitment to educational excellence has significantly impacted students, staff, and the broader community.
The Vice Chancellor, who gratefully accepted the award, emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the media in promoting knowledge, integrity, and societal development.
