The Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has acknowledged the receipt of funds disbursed by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for students of the institution under the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a formal correspondence dated November 12, 2025, and signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olayinka Johnson Agboola, the university confirmed that the sum of ₦718,585,000 was credited into its dedicated NELFUND account on November 8, 2025.
According to the letter addressed to the Managing Director/Chief Executive of NELFUND, the funds cover tuition-related support for 3,473 students of the university who successfully applied for the NELFUND student loan scheme for the current academic session.
The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the university, expressed appreciation to NELFUND for the intervention, noting that the disbursement represents a significant boost to students’ access to education and aligns with national efforts to reduce financial barriers in tertiary institutions.
The development underscores the growing impact of NELFUND’s education financing initiative, as well as continued collaboration between the Fund and higher institutions to ensure timely support for beneficiaries across Nigeria.
