The Federal Ministry of Education, through the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), has approved the upgrade of the PEFTI Film Institute, allowing it to offer five new National Diploma (ND) programmes.
The approval comes on the heels of PEFTI’s recognition as the Best Innovation Enterprise Institution in Nigeria for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions at the National Tertiary Admissions Performance–Merit Awards.
With the upgrade, PEFTI is now accredited to run ND programmes in Business Administration and Management, Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, Mass Communication, Multimedia Technology, and Music Technology.
Reacting to the development, PEFTI Registrar, Abiola Adenuga, described the accreditation as a defining moment for the institute and its students.
“For 21 years, PEFTI has focused on equipping young people with practical skills that prepare them for real careers. This approval means more opportunities for youths to learn, create, and earn in today’s competitive and creative industries,” she said.
Established in 2004, PEFTI has built a strong reputation for hands-on, skills-driven education. The institute operates campuses in Ajao Estate, Lagos State, and Ibadan, Oyo State.
