The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment through education with the inauguration of ten new Digital Learning Centres across the country.
According to a statement released by the Presidency on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the project—implemented under the Renewed Hope Initiative—is designed to “equip young Nigerians with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in a digital world.”
The centres, commissioned virtually from the State House, Abuja, are located in Abia, Delta, Edo, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ondo, Yobe, and Zamfara States. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), aims to promote digital literacy and reduce the gap between education and employability in Nigeria.
Senator Tinubu explained that the project’s focus goes beyond providing computers and internet connectivity, emphasizing its goal of fostering “creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among Nigeria’s youth.”
She noted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s developmental vision of building a knowledge-driven economy where “every child, regardless of background or geography, has access to quality digital learning opportunities.”
“Through the Renewed Hope Initiative, we are ensuring that no community is left behind in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey,” the First Lady stated.
The Digital Learning Project under the Renewed Hope Initiative, she added, reinforces the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive growth and human capital development. It seeks to empower students and communities—especially in underserved areas—to actively participate in the nation’s digital economy.
Earlier this month, Senator Tinubu highlighted the administration’s resolve to provide an enabling environment for youths to explore their creativity and innovation. She urged young Nigerians to embrace hard work, patience, and unity as key values for national progress.
