Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun (TASFUED), made history at the 2025 National Universities Games in Jos on Tuesday, winning its first-ever gold medals in athletics.
Rebecca Soneye blazed to victory in the women’s 800m, while Kehinde Olanrewaju stormed home first in the men’s 100m — a golden double that announced TASFUED’s arrival as a rising force in university sports.
The momentum didn’t stop there. TASFUED’s male hockey team crushed the University of Maiduguri 5–1, while the men’s volleyball team overpowered the Federal University of Petroleum Resources 3–0 to continue the school’s impressive run.
