President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Isa Kida as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Nasarawa State.
The announcement was made in Lafia by the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande, who formally presented the letter of appointment to the new Vice Chancellor on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
According to the appointment letter, Prof. Kida’s tenure will last for a single term of five years, effective from February 11, 2026.
Mrs. Akande expressed confidence in Prof. Kida’s leadership and academic credentials, noting that his wealth of experience would strengthen research, innovation, and institutional growth at FULafia.
> “We believe Professor Kida will build on the achievements of his predecessor and continue to drive excellence in teaching, research, and community service,” she said.
Prof. Kida, a distinguished scholar in Accounting and Finance, was until his appointment the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at FULafia. With nearly three decades in academia, he is widely respected as an accomplished accountant, author, and financial consultant who has made significant contributions to higher education and professional development in Nigeria.
