Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has appointed Professor Alamu Oguntola of the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the Acting Provost of its Postgraduate College.
The appointment, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clement Adebooye, took effect from Monday, January 5, 2026, as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen leadership and improve the quality of its postgraduate programmes.
In a statement issued on Friday by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, the Vice-Chancellor described Professor Alamu as a seasoned academic whose experience would add value to the college.
According to the statement, Professor Alamu brings over 26 years of experience in teaching, research, and university administration, alongside strong local and international research collaborations.
Professor Adebooye noted that these qualities would help drive the strategic growth of the Postgraduate College and further enhance its academic reputation.
The university expressed confidence that the appointment would deepen its commitment to academic excellence, impactful research, and the training of highly skilled professionals.
UNIOSUN congratulated Professor Oguntola Jelil Alamu on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
