About Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global initiative designed to introduce students to open-source software development. Through this program, participants collaborate with open-source organizations on a 12+ week coding project, receiving mentorship and financial support.
The GSoC 2025 program offers students the chance to gain real-world software development experience while earning a stipend.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for Google Summer of Code 2025, applicants must:
Be at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
Be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited educational institution (college, university, master’s program, PhD program, or undergraduate program) as of the Acceptance Date.
Be legally eligible to work in their country of residence throughout the program.
Not have participated in Google Summer of Code more than twice previously.
Program Benefits
Duration: Participants engage in a 3-month coding project under the guidance of an experienced mentor.
Stipend: Successful contributors receive a $6,000 USD stipend to support their participation.
Training & Certification: Gain hands-on experience in open-source development while earning a certification from Google.
