EduTimes Africa’s growing influence in the global education space was once again recognised at the weekend, as its Editor-in-Chief, Oladapo Akande, joined international thought leaders as a panellist during the online launch of Codeavour 7.0 International the world’s largest AI and coding competition for students aged 7 to 18.
The launch, held on Saturday, brought together educators, innovators, and community leaders from across the globe, reaffirming Codeavour’s mission to equip young minds with the skills to learn, innovate and create impactful solutions.
For Akande, the event was not just about technology but about opportunity.
“This mission truly inspires me. Whether you are a student ready to innovate, an educator eager to mentor, or an academic partner looking to collaborate, now is the perfect time to join in,” he said.
But the recognition did not end with the panel. Following the launch, Astha, a representative of the Codeavour organising team, sent a note of appreciation to Akande, praising EduTimes Africa’s role in shaping educational narratives across Africa.
In her words:
“We truly value the impact and reach that EduTimes Africa has created in the education ecosystem…We believe Codeavour is not just a programme but a mission, and no mission is complete without the faces and voices of impactful and thoughtful leaders like you. Codeavour is what it is today because of the contributions of changemakers like yourself.”
This recognition positions EduTimes Africa not only as a continental education advocate but also as a global voice shaping how technology and innovation intersect with learning.
The Codeavour 7.0 competition is now open to students worldwide. Organisers say the programme will serve as a platform where children, regardless of their background, can access digital tools, mentorship and a global stage to showcase their creativity.
