The Division of Agricultural Colleges, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has confirmed the receipt of ₦8,202,950 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as part of the third tranche of students’ loan disbursement.
The fund, received on September 24, 2025, covers registration fees for 199 students of the division.
In a letter addressed to the Managing Director of NELFUND, the Director of the Division, Prof. B.A. Babaji, expressed appreciation on behalf of the management, staff, and students for the timely intervention.
He noted that the loan scheme would significantly reduce the financial burden on students and their parents, thereby easing the pursuit of higher education.
> “This will go a long way in relieving the financial burden of the students and their parents in the course of the studies,” Prof. Babaji stated in the letter.
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) was established to provide accessible loans to Nigerian students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to tertiary education.
With this disbursement, ABU Zaria joins a growing list of institutions benefitting from the scheme, reinforcing the federal government’s commitment to making higher education more affordable.
