Fully Funded Master’s Studies in Nigeria | Deadline: July 20, 2025
In its continued commitment to human capital development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) invites applications from qualified indigenes of the region for the 2025/2026 Local Master’s Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.
This annual initiative is designed to provide opportunities for outstanding students to pursue fully funded Master’s degrees in accredited Nigerian universities across key development-focused fields. The goal is to build a skilled workforce that will drive regional and national transformation, especially through the Federal Government’s Local Content Programme.
📚 Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants must hold degrees in any of the following disciplines:
Agricultural Sciences
Architecture
Engineering
Environmental Sciences
Geosciences
Humanities
Information Technology
Law
Management & Social Sciences
Medical Sciences
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
Be indigenes of the Niger Delta Region
Be not older than 40 years
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (First Class, Second Class Upper/Lower) or HND with a minimum of Upper Credit and PGD
Have an admission letter for postgraduate studies from a recognized Nigerian university
Hold a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
🧪 Selection Process
1. Online Application via the NDDC website
2. Preliminary Shortlisting based on:
WAEC/NECO results
Degree classification (BSc, PGD, etc.)
Valid local government identification
3. Computer-Based Test (CBT) in designated centres (Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers States)
Minimum pass score: 70%
4. Oral Interview for successful CBT candidates
5. Final Verification with Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs)
